As Newark Liberty International Airport - EWR unveils the new Terminal A today, we appreciate the additional focus on Rideshare Safety & SAMI.

LAS has partnered with the #WhatsMyName Foundation to promote ride share safety for all travelers.
​
The foundation was created in honor of Samantha "Sami" Josephson, a University of South Carolina student who was kidnapped and killed when she was targeted by a fake ride share driver in 2019. Her story sparked a nationwide movement to ensure riders stay informed and safe.

Ride share customers at LAS will see safety messaging featuring SAMI, an acronym encouraging passengers to:

S: Stop before getting into a vehicle

A: Ask your driver, "What's my name?" to confirm they booked a trip with you

M: Match the make, model and license plate of the car with the one in the app

I: Inform a friend or loved one of your ride details
