HELP US PREVENT ANOTHER UNIMAGINABLE
TRAGEDY.

On March 29, 2019, Samantha Josephson, a 21 year-old senior at the University of South Carolina, was kidnapped and murdered when she was targeted by a person posing as a rideshare driver.  Immediately following this unfathomable tragedy,  Samantha's parents, Seymour and Marci Josephson, set out to educate others on the importance of ride share safety so that no other family would have to suffer this kind of loss.

The #WHATSMYNAME Foundation was established in honor of their daughter, Samantha Josephson.

LYFT RELEASES SEXUAL ASSAULT DATA; 4,158 INCIDENTS; 360 RAPE REPORTS OVER 3 YEARS

Ridehail company Lyft on Thursday released its first ever safety report, disclosing that it received 4,158 reports of sexual assault on its platform in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The disclosure comes more than three years after Lyft (LYFT) and its rival Uber (UBER) first pledged to release safety reports disclosing incidents of sexual assault and abuse on their platforms after a CNN investigation.

The company's release shows that among the sexual assault reports it received, 360 were reports of rape. It also reported 10 deaths from physical assaults that occurred on its platform over the three years.

UBER RELEASES SAFETY REPORT REVEALING 5,981 INCIDENTS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

Uber released its highly-anticipated safety report on Thursday revealing, among other details, that it received 5,981 reports of sexual assault in 2017 and 2018.

Among those, there were 464 reports of rape.

The report, which comes more than a year after a CNN investigation into sexual assault and abuse on the ride-hailing service, also noted there were 19 deaths caused by physical assault during 2017 and 2018.
